RIO DE JANEIRO
Arrived in Rio to find Mal's luggage hadn't arrived - luckily it turned up next day. First hostel was ok but the room looked like a public toilet and was above a club! so much for sleeping off the jet lag!
BUZIOS
Nice resort although the weather wasnt on our side. think we brought clouds and rain from Manchester.

Stayed in a guest house overlooking the sea which was nice....however read an article in local magazine saying that theres a bed in the restaurant downstairs for couples to eat and ladies get 50% discount for dining topless!!!
Back to RIO DE JANEIRO...
Decided to go back to Rio as we weren't quite as scared and shell-shocked now. Went to see the Christ Redeemer statue which was amazing. The views over Rio were out of this world (see photos). Hostel was better this time with a pool table etc although it turned out it was full of hari khrisnas that were there for a religious festival!!!

SALVADOR
Flew to Salvador and arrived in a taxi in Pelourinho at midnight. felt like we were going to get shot! Quite a dodgy place. Had met a guy from Sao Paulo so went to hostel with him. Nice place! looked like an eastern european prison cell with blood on walls!!! needless to say we took off next morning and went to the coastal area. The hostel was cool lots of Brits there who live in Leeds! Spent time playing drinking games and watching films :-) Bad part of this part of the trip was a woman stopping in front of Leigh on pavement, pulling down her pants and peeing right there!! lovely!:-@

IMBASSAI/PIPA
Visited 2 tranquil beach resorts which were really nice and unspolit. Pipa was a bay where you can swim with dolphins in the wild! Really beautiful places. In Imbassai we stayed in a guesthouse on the beach in a mezzanine bedroom with views over looking the sea. bliss!
CUMBUCO
Visited some other towns on way up coast which aren't worth mentioning!

Then stayed at Adele's apartment in Cumbuco near Fortaleza (thanks Adele!). Its a really lovely place, right near the beach and with huge dunes behind the apartment. we spent a week chilling out catching some rays and did a Beach Buggy Tour of the dunes and lakes which was very fun if not a bit scary! also did sandboarding down dunes - well Mal tried and fell off each time!
IGUAÇU FALLS
Mal's lugguage arrived at airport covered in whisky! I know I'm an alcoholic but come on guys!!!! not having much luck with luggage. lol.

Stayed at a cool hostel with a pool and hammocks where we could chill out and read. Saw Iguaçu Falls - the Brazilian side at first. Best sight yet absolutely breathtaking!!! (see photos-they say it all!).
....Next stop Northern Argentina!!!
