Sweet Sonoma

Ok, we really liked Sonoma Valley. It is definitely the more laid back sister of Napa Valley. The people were a little more casual, and a little more friendly. Being from the South, we really appreciated that (you know, the whole "southern hospitality" thing). Here, they treat you like one of their own. Wine tastings were less expensive, and you were more likely to have a tour guide wearing jeans and boots. My kind of place!
The town of Sonoma is equally as charming as the valley where it lies. There is an old-fashioned town square around the city hall. It is gorgeous! There is lots of good shopping and good eating. Check out the Sonoma Cheese Factory if you want some good picnic food. (We didn't get one, but the grilled burgers smelled really good).

The only problem we found with the town was that there was not much parking available. We happened to be there on a Saturday, which is the busiest day of the week, so just be aware!
