small dose of Japan
From USA 06/07 in Nagoya, Japan on Jan 15 '07
The brief stop in Nagoya, Japan was a god-send. After travelling for 13 hours straight on the plane, it felt so good to walk more than 2-3 feet in any one direction and not annoy the cabin crew. I think I paced so much on that flight that I'd eroded a path around the back exit doors.
Note to self. Next time you fly on a large aeroplane, take asprin beforehand, bring earplugs and try to camoflauge self into seats.
During the flight, when I was sitting, I was sitting next to a lovely Japanese lady in her mid fourties (although from the look of her, you'd think she was 10 year younger!). Although we didn't really talk most of the time whilst flying, we really hit it off in the last couple of hours. Although, cultures, countries and generations apart, I felt I could related to her and that parts of her life experiences could be mine in the future. I wonder if we can bear our soul to strangers on planes because 'what are the chances we'll meet again'?
