Ola from Puerto Montt,
There's exciting adventure news and terrible news. Let's start with the bad. The voyage from Valparaiso to Puerto Montt was a nightmare. We NEVER get sea sick. However we had the worst ocean travel ever. The seas were 12-15 feet and although the ship as "stabilizers" we were rocking and rolling all over the place. I couldn't get out of bed for about 15 hours - every time I tried to get up, I got sick, sick, sick. If you look at the map, we will see we are now with a more sheltered area and the sea is much calmer.

Puerto Montt is considered to be in the lake district. There are dozens of lakes and over 200 volcanos. It is very beautiful. I will try to attach two photos to my travel blog for you to see. One is Wayne posed in front of Calbuco Volcano and the other is Wayne and I posed in from of Osorno Volcano. We went all th4e way up to mid level of Volcano Osorno which has a nice ski lodge. Many ski enthusiasts ski here during our summer, Chile's winter.
Chile is so different than what I excited. It is very mountainous, very green. In the north you will find an area that is the driest in the world - even dryer than the Sahara desert. Where we were today has over 250 days a year that rain - much like Hilo. We were so lucky that we arrived on one of their few bright sunny warm days.
Except for getting sick, we are having a great time. We're off to Chacabuco this afternoon. Will keep in touch.
