This is a very good example of the Mudejar architecture that we saw a lot of in southern Spain. It was built by the Moors, or the Arabs that occupied Spain before Isabel and Ferdanand expelled the Moors from Spain in 1492. We also saw it at the other royal palace in Granada called the Alhambra. Here in Sevilla, this royal palace, called the Alcazar, was changed and added to by the subsequent Christian kings and queens of Spain. It is spectacular and if you ever get a chance, you must visit it.
