Forget going to all the wat's. Go see Jim Thompson's house. It's gorgeous. He's the American entrepreneur famous for reviving Thai silk industry...and also for disappearing without a trace. His house was formed from a number of Thai house and has an amazing collection of South-east Asian art and antiques.

We also went to the mall, which looks like something out of the Jetson's. Neon lights and escalators going in every direction. Finally took a tuk-tuk. Crazy drivers! I think the driving here is worse than Boston.

The sunrises and sunsets are also amazing-- the sun is this perfect orange ball of light.

Already a major fan of Khao San Road. Backpackers from all over the world come together on this short strip of chaos. The clothes are loose-fitting and cheap, funky clothing, cheap Thai whiskey, even cheaper food-- essentially a hippy's heaven.

Fun places to go out include Gulliver's (great pub with international crowd), Immortal Bar (check what music they're playing) & Bayon. 'The Club' is this really trendy Thai hang-out.

Tonight we're finally getting away from Khao San Road and going to Q Bar followed by some after-hours bar.. Roots???
