After a week in Buenos Aires, we were transferred to airport for the next desination, "Iguassu Falls, Brazil". Arrive safely under sunny sky of Foz de Iguassu, Argentina side airport and met our new guide, Rodrigo who took us to the Brazilian side of Falls, Mabu Therma and reort. It was over half hr drive going from the airport to hotel through the border. There is not other tourist to join us in Iguassu and Rodrigo and the driver will be our travel guide. Wow, we thought this is a fantastic private tour for the next three days!

He took care of everything for us passing through the Argentina and Brazilian border crossing (Needs visa to enter Brazil). There has been outbreak of foot-mouth disease nearby and every passenger must wipe shoes with a mat with chemicals at the border. We will stay in the Brazilian side for the next two nights. It was a hot day here in Iguassu.
Arrived at Hotel Mabu and went to see the Itaipu Dam then to a local entertainment.

Hotel Mabu is a big resort complex with everything and might be of interesting place to relax but we are here to see the falls, not for swiming the hotel's pools or play valley ball. It take more than half an hour to get to the Falls by a car from the hotel. There is not much to do here so Rodrigo suggested to go to the hydro dam this afternoon and then to the local place for dinner and show tonight.
Aftere a short rest, Dodrigo came back with a driver for tour to Itaipu Hydro Power station. Itaipu is the world's biggest hydroelectric power station, and is located along the border River Parana, between Brazil and Paraguay. It is only 14km north of Foz do Iguassu downtown. The tour took about 2hours. Upon arrival to the Itaipu Plant, we were transferred to a local bus and first watch a short film telling about the history of the dam, one of the "seven wonders of the world". Then we continued by bus below and on the top of the wall, an amazing and interesting experience. Unfortunately there was no water running outside of dam.

After the trip to Itaip dam, we went to see local entertainments at Rafain cataratas in the evening. There were many tourist groups at the dinner & show place. It was a buffet style dinner with many different choices. The show was also intersting to watch.
