Today we caught a ferry to Mykonos, and from there we were meant to catch an overnight ferry to Turkey, via a few hours on another island, Samos. Obviously though, Mykonos has two ferry ports and our ferry departed from the one that we weren't dropped off at. Our boat was due to leave at 23:10 and we're pretty sure that it did, although as we were sitting at the other port, a 15 minute drive away, it was a little hard to tell. While we were wondering why the boat was late, and why the port was so quiet, we realised what had happened (no thanks to a closed information booth, a rude policeman, no Port Authority office at the port and a severe lack of telephones!). The next ferry wasn't until the next night, so we trudged back into town...

Finding a clean, cheap room (we're just simple folk!) in a foreign country can be a challenge at the best of times, and in the middle of the night it's certainly...difficult. We eventually got a hotel manager out of bed to give us a room for the night, where we grabbed a few hours sleep.

The next day we had a stressful morning, because we had a two day bus tour of Gallipoli and accomodation in two places in Turkey already booked and fully paid for, and no valid tickets to even get there... We had a huge struggle to sort it all out, rebook and work out how to get off the island. We spent a little time exploring Mykonos, before heading to the correct port, ridiculously early, for our boat to Syros where we would spend a few hours.
