Another slow start! After breakfast we walked down Clifton Hill past all of the tat and through Niagara Park up to Skylon Tower. Having got into the "yellow bug" (an EXTERNAL lift!) to the top we were greeted with amazing views of the area and especially of the two falls and feeding rivers. We took loads of pictures as always (shame the people we asked to take photos of us were not up to our usual standards!) After visiting the tower we sat in the gardens of the Casino and ate lunch. Following numerous attempts to withdraw money we discovered that 99% of Canadian ATM's dont accept Visa debit cards so we had to scrape together our US to get by. We watched the world cup final in a local Italian restuarant/bar call the Spicy Olive and Andy had his first beer of our trip! From the end of the game until after we went to bed the local Italians (of which there were loads, although many of them didnt look remotely Italian???) were celebrating hanging out of their cars waving massive flags and sounding their horns. After the football we decided to walk over Rainbow Bridge with links Canada to the US over Niagara River. At one point on the bridge we had one foot in Canada and the other in the US! From here we got some more great views of the falls and the camera got plenty of use! Having gt through passport control we walked into the US Niagara Park and had a look around for a while and decided that we should come back over and make a full day of it. On returning to the Canadian side Megs eyes lit up when she saw Heaven in the shape of the Hersheys store. It was rude not to buy something so we shared a chocolate shake and a choc chip cookie (very sickly, even for Meg). Later in the evening we went out to watch the fireworks, this time they were let off over Horseshoe Falls and the bangs echoed all the way down the river valley. Megs lip fungus and sun blisters are improving with lots of tlc from Dr Coles!
