We woke up in the mornng in a little town called Minnipa. Since every town has to have a tourist attraction, this one claimed to be famous for it's Concrete Crappa. (no explanation necessary)
We continued on the Eyre Highway and the surroundings were definitely getting flatter and no trees in sight. We stopped to make lunch in Yalatta, right in the middle of a native aboriginal reserve, perhaps not safest place to be, though at the time there was not a soul in sight.
Drinking water was not as easy to come by anymore. Up till yesterday we could see the big water pipeline along side the road, but here there was no free water. We got to the little "town" of Nullabor about 4 pm. You cannot realy call these places a town. A gas station, little store and a big truck parking area is all that was there.

There was a dingo roaming around, they are actually very nice looking dogs,no comparison to a coyote. The majority of the traffic in this region was road trains and camper people with an odd car driving through.
Landing strips for the Flying doctor were adjacent to the road and we saw warning signs for wild kangaroos, emus, wombats and camels.
Nullabor maarks the beginning of the Nullabor Plain. Nullabor means no trees and true enough there were none. The country site was very flat but still covered with shrubs and grasses. The kids had expected to see only sand, but it was just not that kind of desert.

Later in the afternoon we saw a poi (point of interest) sign so we thought that was a good time to stop and stretch alittle.
