Conwy is the classic medieval walled town, surrounding Conwy Castle which was built by Edward I in the late 13th century.  Attached to the castle is the Conwy Suspension Bridge, one of the world's first road suspension bridges [now just a foot bridge], built in the 1820's to span the River Conwy.  The castle had folks dressed in period dress complete with lances and medieval firearms.  Wandering through town, I got a kick out of the signs written in Gaelic, with it's weird placement of double consonants.
