Rachel is the one-horse town closest to the famous Groom Lake and Area 51 - America's most secret air base that officially doesn't exist [they are said to have the bodies of aliens from the Roswell crash and reverse engineer spaceships here!]. We aptly stay at the Little A'le'Inn, perfect for exploring the area. Take a drive along the a seemingly-endless, unmarked dirt track which leads to Area 51. However, we are stopped by warning signs which tell us the use of deadly force is authorised if we go any further. Watched by cameras, sensors and armed soldiers in unmarked grey trucks, we turn back - but not before taking a few sneaky photos. Determined, we try to get a closer look at the base from the only vantage point - Tikaboo Point - 26 miles away but find the dirt track too rough and too remote. Decide it is safer to move on incase we encounter one of the radioactive dumps or other military toxic waste in the area. Fail to spot even just one UFO however they are seen almost
