Early next morning we set off on the long leg to Delhi, India’s capital. It went well until we hit the outskirts of town where we came across major roadwork’s which went on forever.

Eventually reaching the hotel, within spitting distance of all the most important embassy residences (SA missing though) on road-swept wide, tree-lined boulevards. There was a convention, something to do with travel awards and I watched part of THE cricket game where SA (proudly) broke so many cricket world records when they BEAT the Aussie’s yeah!

Next day, off we go on a tour of Delhi, old and new. The Red Fort where there was a Bollywood movie taking place outside the entrance, drawing a bigger crowd than the fort. Across the road a combination of Jain and Hindu temples next door to each other.

Off to see the place where ? ashes lie, surrounded by a sea of colourful sari-clad women and immaculate green gardens. Parliament buildings astride a road where the gateway to India looms, followed by the impressive Lotus Temple, a modern structure built in 1986 for all religions, evidenced by the myriad array of voices as we entered the building.
