Geysers and Lakes

Just pulled into Turangi... it's on the south side of Lake Taupo, which is pretty phenomenal.  Really nice views and whatnot from Taupo itself, although I just stopped there for lunch.

Woke up this morning and headed down to the Wai-O-Tapu thermal area... it was great.  Saw the geysers, the mud pools, all that good stuff.  Pretty awesome little detour, and while I was there, I met some girl from Heidelberg who'll be in Perth the same time I will, so we swapped e-mail addresses and we'll try to meet up then.

Not sure what Turangi has to offer yet, but something tells me, not much.  I'm just glad the roads down to Wellington have reopened so I can have clear passage down to the ferry on the 28th.
