Evan and I are getting ready for our trip to Taiwan, to visit my brother Nathan and his wife and two girls.  We will leave on June 20 and return on July 4.  Nathan emailed us a long list of possible things to do (below) and we are getting excited about all of the interesting things we will see.  It will be great to have our relatives as local guides for all of the places to visit--we could never have planned such an interesting trip on our own!

-watersilde amusement park, Russian made, pretty cool. -National Palace Museum - renowned as the greatest collection of Chinese artifacts in the world, including China. Most of the stuff was rescued (stolen, depending on your perspective) from China before so much was destroyed in the Cultural Revolution.

-Science Museum - same company as the one in Seattle.

-Lugan - historic town, once the capital of Taiwan a few hundred years ago. -Beach Resort - Kenting, the southern most tip of Taiwan. Nice tropical atmosphere. Swimming, playing in the sand, insane crowds on weekends.

-Tainan, once the Dutch capital of Formosa about 400 years ago.

-jungle hiking

-shopping in massive Japanese department stores

-Taiwanese baseball games

-indoor fishing (like putting a pole in a swimming pool)

-computer alley shopping (need computer parts?)

-Jade market shopping -

-Night market shopping

-Chinese Ice Cream - just had some on Tuesday

-Taiwanese folk village - an interesting combination of impressive carnival rides and aboriginal displays

-Taipei zoo - tasteful, nice if you like zoos.

-bullet train - goes over 200 mph.

-island visiting - Green Island, Matsu Island, Penghu Island...

-Karaoke singing, I'll watch.

-Eating exotic animal parts

-illegal gambling

-studying English (taught by me)

-illegal downloading - It's safe over here. No one cares.

-bike riding.

-sleeping

-watching too much TV.

-Costco - about 40 minutes away and really similar to the States

-McDonalds, KFC, 7-11, pizza hut, Dominos Blockbuster, - all 10 minutes or less from our house.

-Movie theater, 15 minute walk. all Hollywood’s latest. about $5.

Wow, how are you going to find time to visit all on that itinerary - sounds exciting. As for the sleeping part - you might need that. I for sure want to see pictures of you all singing Karaoke. Take Care and be safe.
