Bruges

We took a day trip up to Bruges, Belgium. The town was like a snapshot of the past and was incredibly beautiful. All the buildings, except the churches, were short and narrow. This gave the churches an ominous and towering presence. The town was great and was one of the places we regret not spending more time in. It was covered in multicolored ivy because of the onset of fall. Bruges was the third town we visited that was filled with canals. It gave the place a tranquil and calm ambiance that was very relaxing. We hope to go back some day.
