Airfare is cheaper in AC!

We went to AC to spend a couple of days at the beach with the kids before putting them on a plane to go visit their father for the summer.  Upon arriving at the hotel, I was initially disappointed with the quality of the amenities, but as I mentioned elsewhere, we weren't planning on spending much time in the room, so it worked out ok.  As soon as everyone had lugged their things into the room (can't leave things in my truck as there's no roof on it during the summer), we headed down to the beach for a few hours.  While we were there a man approached us about going to a timeshare presentation and offered us Tropicana buffet passes and a choice of a free 3 day/2 night hotel stay (which turned out to not be free after all) or $50 cash after the presentation was complete.  We signed up (it was for the next morning) and then went back to the room for a change of clothes before driving down to Ocean City.  The AC boardwalk is ok, but if you've got kids with you, Ocean city is really the best place nearby for them to have fun.  We got into some trouble there before going back to the room and crashing (it was around midnight when we got back).  Got up the next morning and were greeted by rain.  This was no big deal to us as we had the time share presentation.  After it was done, we collected our prizes and left.  The only real downside to it was that Michelle's umbrella was stolen out of the reception area while we were in there.  Not a huge deal as the sun was shining when we went outside.  Spent a little more time at the boardwalk before taking the kids and putting them on their flight, then back to the Trop for dinner.  We went to bed early that night, Tuesday we got up, checked out and enjoyed the last of our passes at the Trop buffet breakfast before getting on the road for home.  It was a fun two day trip, I'll likely do it again before the end of summer.
