Fort William: Highland Town

It would have really been nice to spend another night in Oban, but with a preconceived itinerary, it seemed a bit frightening not to stick with it. The bus from Oban to Fort William is the most spectacular journey I have ever embarked on. Pink tinged mountains, low clouds, low sun, lochs, clean air, castles around every corner...
Everything here seems to be a gloriously pink colour, thus creating an outstanding atmosphere! Until half way through I realised colouring had been courteously provided by the bus company's window tint, complimentary to passenger to create an unforgettable travelling experience.
I must say, there is an imposing feel which cannot be ignored - a sure sign we had arrived in the legendary Scottish Highlands.

Didn't do much in Fort William, even though it is the place where you're supposed to go to do everything - its also known as the Outdoor Capital of the UK, but we made little use of this title. Instead we traipsed around town for half the day looking for a laundrette (of which, due to the building having been completely demolished, a Fort William Laundrette no longer existed). Also found some cool gift shops - this is the place for Celtic souvenirs.
