Storming the city!

Pompeii started off all little rocky, but it soon once we arrived at the hostel and checked in, things could only get better from there. Walking into the city, we were given free time to explore the city. Just experiencing the culture was amazing. Walking up and down the streets, we were able to see just how different Italian culture is.

After a long day of exploring the city, we were ready to have a nice dinner and head to bed. We were anxious to try the fabled Italian wine, so we bought a bottle or two and had a wonderful evening.

Pompeii-Big things come in small packages

The next day, we explored the ruins of Pompeii. It is amazing how much the eruption of Vesuvius was able to preserve. Molds of people were able to be made from cavities where people were buried. This is the most accurate representation of Italian culture from hundreds of years back because paintings and structures were preserved with so much integrity.

The city is full of subtleties that you may not observe at first glance. The history of the city is amazing primarily because of the preservation that occurred. If traveling to Italy, make sure to see Pompeii, but the real gem is where we went next: Rome.
