We spent the entire day walking around Kew Gardens and then spent the evening ice skating.
Kew Gardens was very nice. It is a lovely, large piece of land, just on the outskirts of the city, but I can imagine a visit there in the spring or summer would be more tantilizing to the senses. Most of the trees were bare and none of the flowers were in bloom, however we did see some holly that put us into the Christmas spirit.

Once the gardens were closed we made our way to the skating rink. The tickets for skating included the skate rental of the funniest skates I have ever seen. The skates weren't sharp for starters, and the blades were affixed to the ugliest looking boots. The boots actually looked more like ski boots than skate boots and there were the most uncomfortable skates I have ever worn.
But the ugly skates didn't hamper our good time. We had so much fun and it was the first time either of us have ever skated in the rain. The whole day was quite nice, until we had to go skating and then the skies opened and it poored rain. 80% of the people skating didn't know how to skate, so by the end of our one hour skating time there were lots of adults with wet pants from falling.

The best part of the skating was the location. The rink was right in front of a beautiful glass green house with purple and pink lights shining on it. It was really nice and a great way to spend a day.
