I didn`t realize how many museums there were in Paris! We started with a visit to The Louvre to view the Mona Lisa and the sculpture Venus de Milo. The Venus de Milo is a statue that was created sometime around the year 200 BC and discovered on the Greek island of Milos in 1820. Her arms have never been found.
We also visited Hotel des Invalides which was built for wounded soldiers in the 1600s. There are still old soldiers living there as well as a military museum. Lyndsay wanted to visit Napeleon`s tomb which is in the chapel.

My favourite museum was Musee d òrsay. This museum is in an old railway station that was built in 1900 for the Paris Exposition. It is a very large, beautiful building filled with paintings, sculptures and antique furniture. My favourite exhibits were the art displays by Claude Monet and Renoir. I wish I could put a piece of their art in my living room!
On our last day in Paris, we visited the Pantheon which was build in1744 and modeled after the one in Rome. Many famous French writers and military men are buried in the crypts below. We climbed almost 300 steps to get a view of the city from the top.
