May 11th

Left Phi Phi by ferry to Railay beach ( about an hour away) and upon arrival , Agy and I decided to take the advise of the Lonely Planet and stay at a very close beach named Ton Sai. This beach is known as the rock climer's hideaway or the hippie bar... Here we found a room for less than 2 bucks a night  but did not have electricity. Oh I failed to mention that in thailand this is the low season, so prices should theortically be slashed in half. However, because of the tsunami last year, prices have not decreased and are still very high. We take the lowest of the low so we can save some money...

So upon arrival at Railey, we had to tranfer from a ferry to a long boat that can dock directly in the sand. The boat was full and many bags were placed at the front of the boat, making that end very heavy. So when it came to docking on the beach, the boat got stuck in the low tide very far from shore... The poeple had to get off, grab their  packs and wade through thigh high water to get tot he beach. There were 6 people left on the boat, and we could not help but laugh at the situation becuase all these poor people were falling over rocks in the water with their packs..it was very commical ( they didnt think so....)

We arrived at our beach without incident, and settled into our lodgings.. That night we went to a bar called the Chillout bar (reggae bar) where we ended up chilling out for the next 4 nights!!! The locals were GREAT...the best we had met so far!!! Here we met a whole different group of people and chilled with them... Agy ended up hooking up with a guy named Robin!!! Great guy!!! Anyway, we went hiking and rock climbing, we also took a long tail to a different island and Rock ( one of the locals ) spent the day with the 5 of us... Awesome time... Again, amazing sunsets!!!

Here we encourntered what they mean my monsoon... billowing winds and torrential rains!!! Here I also encountered my first injury... I stubbed my toe on a rock!!! Agy had already used up most of my bandaids because she seems to be accident prone these days!!!

So now we are back in Bangkok ( blah!!!) and are catching the train to Vietiane ( in Laos).. getting the Visa at the border!!!

Next time, new stories from a new country!!!
