After college graduation I planned to stay in California for the summer to work and save money for our big 5 month adventure traveling around the world, but plans changed in June. After apply for several jobs and no luck with any I talked with a friend who worked out in colorado on a drilling rig and it sounded like a great opportunity to make some quick cash for my trip. So i packed up my bags and drove 18 hrs to Casper Wyoming. I arrived and immidiately starting applying for jobs with drilling companyies. After 4 days of waiting and no word , I finally got a job working with Grey Wolf Drilling. I was to be in Big Piney Wyoming by 6am the next morning. So I packed up again and drove 5 hrs west. I worked on Rig 821 for 5 1/2. 12 hr days, 7 days a week. No days off. It was an interesting and awesome experience.

I grew a lot and learned to trust God more than ever. I had doubts that i had made a mistake several times, and yes there were hard days. But with the prayers of friends and family and Gods support I made it through.....and made a lot of money doing it. it was a exhausting, dirty, job. I was always covered in grease, dirt, oil and mud. I learned so much about drilling wells. and met many many many interesting, crazy people who i worked with.
I don't know if i'll ever go back. maybe.
