Faro is quite expensive and we continue to wonder what the Portuguese do for a living to afford the clothing and shoe stores we see – Yikes!!

Saturday was moms birthday – we celebrated over pizza and pasta with a delicious Tiaramisu for dessert!! Mom has made friends with the pizza maker from India!

Leaving Portugal today - Nov 6th Mom left this morning at 4:00 am – I hurried to the airport at 9:00 only to find my flight delayed at least an hour with the torrential downpour outside - quite common to Faro in the “rainy season” that is now….. I am trusting that this won’t affect my flight to Morocco as I am quite excited to arrive in Casablanca this evening.  I suppose I have been given plenty of opportunities to practice patience, and understanding without complaint and have been failing miserably.  So my real “Practice” begins now…. (sorry mom for not doing a better job at that last week) I needed a week to get in the vacation/easygoing mindset I suppose….???   We had a great week and were able to see most of the Algarve Region as well as some small villages near Monchique – Home to the hot springs area north of the coast.

We “got some kinks out” - good mother daugher stuff - had some heavy discussions, some not so heavy discussions, took and enjoyed lots of pictures, agreed to disagree on our (or my) driving styles and ate really boring not even that enjoyable food.  All in all a wonderful way at way for me to wind into my vacation.  It was good to not be alone to start out with.
