cape town is a kiff place. i've spent 11 days here, not doing much, just chilling out with my house mates. i am staying in an apartment with 2 guys, both happen to be on holiday as well. it's a nice change from my stay in south america where i was mostly on-the-go and seldom spend the whole day with the same group of people.

my first day here, the guys brought me to several pubs in cape town as it was st. patrick's day. 2nd day was spent recovering. i have visited more pubs than sights since i got here as one of the guys loves to hang out in pubs and appears to survive on an alcohol diet. fortunately the other guy, a hunky irish, is sane. i would have died of hunger or alcohol intoxication if not for him.

i did make the basic touristy trip to the top of table mountain. the sunset from there was brilliant. when the skies turn dark, you get to admire the city, illuminated in lights.

my best trip tho, was to boulders beach. the drive there was beautiful. we passed chapman's peak when the sun was setting. initially i thought we would be too late to see the penguins and i was nearly in tears. but they were all over the place. i even saw a chick! that was the first time i had gotten so close to penguins. they were sooooooooo adorable. and it tickled me to see the penguins walk, hop or jump...clumsy little creatures. the sky was in soft shades of pink and blue. and the sea was reflecting the colours of the sky. it was a very romantic evening...the best that i've had since i arrived in cape town.
