Isla Mujeres - a 12km island 40 minutes off the coast of Cancun. This place is amazing. I'm staying in Poc Na hostel which is a few minutes walk to Playa Norte, the best beach on the island, and one of the best beaches I've ever been on. The water and sand are just beautiful and you can walk out for about 200-300m into the sea and it's still only waist height.

After chilling out on the beach for a few hours I decided to have a beer at one of the beach bars and soon enough I met Tomas & Jane, a Danish and Norwegian couple travelling together. We hit it off immediately and we pretty much spent every minute together over the next 4 days. Myself & Thomas, like all Irish and Danes, enjoying the odd beer here & there, so we went on the lash and had a tremendous time. Life here is easy and it's plain to see why so many people end up staying way more than they had planned. I fell into the trap and it was with great sadness that I had to leave when I eventually did. I have to. The days are ticking down and if I want to check out as much as I want then its time to start.

Paradise and Partying..

Apart from chilling on a beautiful beach and partying we rented out a golf cart for the day and toured the island. It was alot of fun. The turtle farm was interesting and worth checking out I thought. The best bit was, as driver, we started offering a free taxi service to strangers and had a great laugh. At one stage we had 7 people on the golf cart haha. We ended up partying with quite a few of them come that evening.

Loved Isla Mujeres and would definitely recommend it to anyone..
