Lago Titikaka
From Discovering South America! in Copacabana, Bolivia on Feb 09 '08

So, this is the highest navigable lake in the world! Do you notice a pattern here (we visited a lot of places that held some sort of record; we just happened to be in the neighborhood!). We were only in Copacabana for a couple of days, but we got to see it at its best....during carnival, of course! They have great costumes in this little lake-side town and the drinking starts early! We also took a boat ride to visit Isla del Sol where we hiked for three hours from the northern end to the southern. Best part of Copacabana is that even though it is visited by so many tourist every year, it still maintains its own identity (one that is not dependent on its visitors).
during carnival, of course!
