In Pittsburgh we stayed with Anna’s friend Pat.  We walked around the Carnegie Mellon campus a bit and did some essential things like sleep in late.  We went to do laundry, but were hampered by the fact that there wasn’t any water.  It turns out that a water main broke and sent half of the city’s water flooding down the street.  So that kept things interesting for an entire day and night.  It was pretty ironic, because throughout the trip we always find ourselves worrying if we have enough water to drink, cook with, and wash dishes.  We never thought it would be an issue in a Pittsburgh apartment, though.

The Pirates didn’t have a great day either.  The park wasn’t even half full and the bucs got pummeled 8-0.  Despite that, PNC Park was very enjoyable.  It was a beautiful night and we had a lovely view of the city and the bridges across the river.  We also tried this weird Pittsburgh sandwich where they put french fries and cole slaw right on the sandwich with the rest of the stuff.  It was actually better than you might think.

Our time in Pittsburgh also marks the beginning of the last month of the road trip.  Three down, one to go!
