Seattle again, which means I have to get up early! And as I'm not that much of a morning person and can't go to bed early (I think it was around 2am that I went to bed), I pressed the snooze button on my alarm clock twice and had to hurry. But as I got out of the shower it was already late. By the time I was ready to leave I didn't know if I was gonna make it in time to catch the bus. And yes, my hunch was correct - after running to the bus stop I found out had just missed it by 1 minute, as the woman further up told me... ARGH!

Okay, no panic. Time to think. I could either walk there - it was 8:38am and the bus to Lakewood was leaving at 9:05 - or I could grab the bike which would get me there on time, but I would risk that dad was gonna kill me for taking it and leaving at the station. Probably best to do the latter, I couldn't be late today! (1 bus later means 1.5hrs later in Seattle)
So I grabbed the bike, hurried my way to Lacey Transit Center and got there nicely on time. It's only a 10min bike ride anyways, so that's good. I waited for the bus to arrive, in my long sleeved shirt that I had put on this morning because it was totally cloudy and thus not too warm. I was getting worried when the bus still hadn't arrived at 9:09am, so I got up to check the timetable to be sure, and yeah... scheduled at 9:15!!! I probably could've made it by just walking then haha. Doesn't matter, I'm here now and we're gonna have fun today.

On my way to Seattle I fell asleep quite a few times and woke up cos I banged my head against the window. BOOM.. and fell back asleep within seconds. It must've happened at least 4 times, the last one was a little harder hehe. I was surprised when we arrived to Seattle I didn't have a bump on my forehead haha.
The bus was quite full and in Tacoma even more people got on the bus, some of them having to stand. The reason was because there was a ball game on, so the most of the got off at the stadium, about 3 stops before I had to get off.

I got off at S Jackson St and made my way to Pacific Herbs & grocery in the International District. Unfortunatly they didn't have the herbs that I needed, so I thought I'd go to Uwajimaya, the huge Asian supermarket. But I had checked last week as well and they didn't seem to have it. I asked anyways, but nope... they told me to go to Pacific Herbs, where I just came from!
I had a look outside to see if Carol was already there, as we had agreed upon meeting outiside the Uwajimaya at around 11:15am. She wasn't there yet so I went back inside to some highly needed stuff, which I found on the other side of the building. When I got out, I noticed a back entrance and thought I'd have a look there - you never know, she might be waiting there! And yes, there she was with a nice cold drink she had just bought across the street at Starbucks.

I got a nice hot & strong coffee there as well before we walked to the busstop. We had to catch bus 7, which just drove away as we were waiting, it had something else on the side, not a 7.. So we had to wait 15 minutes or so and we just chatted it away.
After finally getting on the busy bus it took forever to reach our destination cos of all the traffic, but anything was better than walking - it would've taken us hours to get there haha. Once there we walked to the event, avoid the doo doo on the sidewalk *sniffs*. Good thing you don't see it that much in Holland! Wasn't that long of a walk, but we had to buy tickets too with nice quite a few people waiting in line to buy a ticket too. But since I got to Seattle the sky began to clear up and now it was a completely clear sky with just a little cloud in the far distance! Perfect, just didn't put any sunscreen on... Oh well.

Once we had the tickets we were all set to go. Seafair here we come, woohoo! Some girl had to check our bags, the one on the left was cuter but I didn't care too much lol. We walked along the many promotion tents and some food suppliers, trying to find our way as fast as possible to the lake shore so we wouldn't miss out on anything that's going on.
We walked for a bit and finally found a nice spot - under a tree and where we were able to see quite a lot, just as where the boats would be turning around. Maybe we would get lucky and see one flip over! Nothing like it happened though, just a boat or two which engines had given up on them. The boat races weren't too bad, but in my opinion not THAT spectacular either. Fun to see them racing each other, but we weren't able to see the start/finish either, so yeah.

More impressive i thought were the planes flying over our heads! First this guy stunting with his plane, was amazing the tricks that he pulled. Up, down, screws, straight up in the air and whatever u can think of, he did it.
The Blue Angels were magnificent, the four of them flying together at the same pace right besides each other. I've got a few movies of it, but I don't think this site allowed you to put movies in it. I can send on request though, just email me. The pictures turned out quite nice too though.

The guy in front of us - and later next to us - was very nice too. He seemed to be living only a few blocks away from Carol! What a coincidence! They hit it off right away and he now is Carol's new best friend. He and his wife too of course. They even gave us a beer halfway in the afternoon, what better neighbours could you ask for.
Before the final race we piked out, wanting to beat the traffic and be back before 6pm at the garage where Carol parked her car (downtown). We walked up to the bus stop where we got off and the bus was right there so we ran to catch the bus, as like the other people behind us... Must've been a funny thing to see heheh.

We got on the bus and got back downtown much faster than we got to Seafair. I couldn't sit at first, but at least I was standing in the shade, as where Carol sat in the burning sun.. Hah! Halfway there a few weirdo's got on and started talking to the guys that had gotten on the bus at the same time we did. They didn't make too much sense so I didn't really listen too much to them, but yeah weird anyways.
When we finally got downtown we headed to the parking garage under the Washington Mutual Building and Carol drove me home. We wanted to get some dinner though, so Carol took an exit near DuPont just before Lacey. We drove around the many eating places there and went for the Mexican restaurant called Viva Mexico. It must've been the first time for me to go to a Mexican restaurant, so I didn't know what to choose and I still don't remember what it was but it tasted nice! All that cheese and stuff, yummy! And the wine was pretty good too - a nice Merlot with it. I finished my plate, but was pretty full too. Carol nearly finished hers, I actually tasted some of her beans but I thought that tasted pretty awful, but she didn't think so!

After finishing up she dropped me off at Lacey Transit Center and I cycled back home. It was only 8:45pm when I got home, so I got to tell dad and Patti how my day was and vice versa.
Oh, and he didn't kill me (or I wouldn't be sitting here writing this haha)!
..
