Torino, Italy
From Sydney-HongKong-London in Torino, Italy on Jul 19 '07

Drove to Torino from Nice (36 degrees today) and stopped along the way in a little French ski village in the French Alps, just quaint. After going through several tunnels and winding up some very scary roads up the alps, we went through a 3.5 km tunnel which took us from France into Italy. Saturday, 21 July
Had pizza for lunch and antipasto/pasta for dinner... there's one thing that's for sure, we do like italian food!!!
Torino is a very small city which hosted the Winter Olympics in 2006, surounded by Mountains, the locals dont speak much english but they are very friendly and ithe place isnt overcrowded by tourists which was a nice change from where we've been lately. We stayed in a beautiful 13th century building (3 star hotel) which had so much security on the huge doors into the building and marble benchtops in the kitchenette. The only downside was ther was no a/c and it was 35-36 degrees. After a bit of sightseeing we stopped for several coffees along the way (at one place they were 0.85 euros each.. bargain) for what was the best coffees we've had in our life).
