Since this trip was a little while ago, this will be more of recap of the entire visit.

It was Kirsty's first time to the islands, so we took her up to Northshore, where we did some snorkeling at Shark's Cove. It was beautiful, and a great day to be under the sun (especially since Michael and I lost most of our tan over the year). The highlight of this expedition wasfollowing a giant turtle around (it was about half my size and we were so close we could touch him if we dare venture). The not-so-much highlight of this trip was losing my debit card, and Michael's driver license. Note to self: Zip up pockets before going into water.

Even though the waves were really little, it was so awesome riding on them!!!

We went to Waimea Bay, where Michael and I jumped off a 20-ft rock and I bruised up my tailbone pretty badly. Soaring through the air = amazing. Landing on my tailbone = not so amazing. After that we got shaved ice from Matsumoto's.

An adventure for another day was hiking up a trail that goes up to the ride of the Koolaus. I can't remember the name of the trail, but it was a great hike, we took a lot of good pictures. The view from the top was breathtaking. Apparently, the trail continues all along the Koolau mountain range, so that's going down on the Things to Do list for our next trip. We did another little hike up to Makapu'u lighthouse with Michael's friends from home, Shannon and Chelsea. We managed to snap some nice pictures of the lighthouse, and the beach we visited almost every day, Makapu'u.

Other beaches we went to were Sandy Beach and Kailua. I learned to catch my first waves on a bodyboard at Kailua this year! Even though the waves were really little, it was so awesome riding on them!!! I can't wait for another chance to do it again and get better at it.

In between all the adventures, we spent a lot of time with family and friends, ate a lot of good food, and had a great time overall.
