So we finally made it to Iowa and Liesl's house.  Kristen drove from Illinois on and was quite excited to drive the rest of the way.  The last time she had been up there, around Christmas and New Year's, she drove a lot around the area so she already knew where she was going.  We called Liesl earlier to let her know when we would be there. Kristen said we should be there about 7 am, and at 6:59, we were pulling into the driveway.  They live way way way out in the boonies, so they don't even bother to lock the door.  There's only one neighbor nearby, so if something goes wrong, you know who did it.  So we just walked in, and Nina, the supposed watch dog, didn't even move until Kristen pounced on the bed where Liesl and Nina were sleeping.  Even then Nina barely made a noise, she just wanted to go back to sleep.  I miss that dog.  So our first day mainly consisted of getting Liesl up for work, taking showers, and sitting around.  After Liesl made breakfast and headed off for work in Manchester, Kristen climbed in her bed and went to sleep.  My brother and I were not sleepy anymore, so we just kinda sat around with the dogs and read the books we brought along with us.  Thus ends the first day of our stay in Iowa.
