Well first few days in vietnam, alot to take in. Firstly the roads, are just crazy. The traffic lights mean nothing here they still drive throught them, an traffic doesn't stop for presditrians too. to cross the road you have to be brave and just step out into the road and try an avoid the motorbrikes that are hurtling towards you, and have faith in the drives that they will miss you which they always do, after doing it a couple of times it itsn't so alien to step out into a busy main road at rush hour time lol ! the small roads are bad enough but the main roads are a nightmare, it takes ages to cross them mainly beacuse you have to get the nerve up to cross.

Walking, well thats a dangerous extreme sport over here, you all systems go, its a military mission with stargetic planning always required. The motorbrikes like to drive on the pavements too, its quicker see, so your not safe there from them, but mostly you can't walk on the pavements because there are street vendous and motorbikes on them parked up, oh yes there everywhere! so you have to walk in the gutter, which is gross as they sweep all the rubbish into that an then a person in an oranage jumpsuits sweeps it up into a huge bin daily. but if you dnt walk in th egutter you will get knocked down by motorbikes, sounds alwful but its not really, you very soon get use to it, an you only have to walk in the gutter on my road, not everywhere in vietnam. you also develop in built motorbike, an bus sensors so it becomes second nature to watch out for them.

The motorbike experince , well thats great fun, an at rush hour with a crazy driver more of a rush than skydriving!! but its ok, no accidents yet to report. its probably safer on the motorbikes anyway. you have motorbike taxi's everywhere, well anyone with a motorbike does it, an its very cheap too.
Ho Chi mInh its self is great a loverly city. the backpacker area, De Tham, is like any other european holiday place really, you can get alot of western things here.
Then Dong Koi this is the posh part, its fabulous, could be in paris, london. Very modern and traditional at the same time.

Alot of women here still wear the traditional dress to work, which is silk trousers and a long silk top, they look stunning, and they have sun umberallers.
The vietnames like to cover up from the sun, they all wear hats when out in the sun, face masks, mainly because of teh pollution though, and silk gloves that cover there hands to stop the sun. we have tanning cream at home, an they have whiteneing cream. lol lol !!!
The people here are so friendly here and are always willing to help you out, an they dont pester you if you say no then they tak that teh first time.
