So I went to this farm to pick, and as much as I would like to be outside and pick. But after 8h of climbing trees- yes at this farm they expect you to actually climb the tree to get all the cherries off. the cherries were alot better at this farm. so after my first day John called and said he didnt really need anymore pickers but was looking for packers (not sure excatly why he said that but ....) not that I wanted to stand in the same spot and pack for 8h a day but anthing that was going to pay me 15$ a hour sounded good. I convinced John (boss) that I did know how to pack and I had a job.

Always adventures when you put three girls togather for 8-10h a day for two weeks. we had lots of laughs. Not that I can remember any of our stories. 1st there was just erica and chentelle and I, then some days I stayed longer and worked with Jill. It was really cool we would pack the cherries and the next min they would sell them down at the "shed door" sales store.

Erica and Tell (chentelle)turned into very good friends and people I hope to keep in contact with for awhile. Erica is and agculture sience major and 19 going into her 3rd year uni. and tell is a teacher going into her 4th year. Tell is a christian and everyone seemed to be connected thru different churches and other christian circles. Next Kate joined us (she graduated year12 and then came to work) um.... two sundays I got to go to two different churches- one with chentelle (and afterwards to the bar to hear her boyfriend play in his band and then to see the ch display) and then the next week to kates church(where the youth came over to her house after church and we played a large game of spoons with 12 people). we worked lots of 10h days that week, and no days off It was really quite tiring.

but I better take th work while its here, it SOnice to live right next to work, like let me explain. I walk out my back door and not even 15 feet to the left I hop two fences (for John's sheep) and Im in the orchard, its only a 2min walk thru that 1/2 of the orchard and then thru a fence and Im in John and Jills frout yard. Its nice.

one day Noleen asked me if I needed towls (as I was walking out the door to work) nope Im pretty much self cotained- she like to make sure I know that Im welcome to everything and anything in her home. anything you need to know ask, I remember that being her last words as I left for work. I had to come home at lunch to grab my walet and I set off the house alarm- yep she did forget to mention that. so I had no clue what to do, thank God I live with one of the pickers micheal. he heard the house alarm from where he was, I ran back to the shed and radioed him and he ran over to the house and turned it off for me. then he came over to the shed where ha gave me the "need to know about house alarms".

My "worst day ever" first I think John must not have had enough sleep 1st from Jill we got introuble for having toomany seconds (bad cherries) taken out then John too another box off the shelves from the fridge from another day and apparently we didnt take out enough seconds and he cant sell cherries with bad cherries in them. THEN the sizes were not right and we had just packed (the day before) cherries to goto brisban but when he looked at then there were too many small and too many large together in the wrong boxes. So we ended up doing all last weeks over resizing them, I had thought this was all my fault because I was sizing but when I realized it had been all week I realized that it was all of our faults for not sizing properly.  so they started up the large grader and pulled some pickers from the orchard and ... yeah it was a whole different ball game of work for the past week. but fun at the same time because I got to know three of the "young boys" all 16 year old guys..... and yeah more people and yet I still got to chat with erica and kate most of the time.
