After 8 (ish) years returned to Scotland to visit my family, some of whom I hadnt seen since I was 12!!! Was so good to see them. Met Aunty Sal and Granny at the airport and then went to Granny's place where during the afternoon my cousins Leanne and Kylle came in, Kylle's friend, Uncle Alan and Grandpa as well so it was a full house!!
Saturday morning I was woken up by Granny with my breakfast on a tray....talk about slumming it...haha!!! Could get used to that! Its way better than having to get up and make breakfast in the shared kitchen at uni!!

Went on a "magical mystery tour" with Aunty Sal and Granny....mystery coz noone knew where we were going....until we got there, including aunty sal who was driving....!! The first stop was at Portobello, (the beach) where we had an ice cream. Yes, it was only 9 degrees, but the sun was out!! After that we went to a shopping centre called Ocean Terminal, which is by the water and the boat the Brittania is moored (yeah??!!) there. (An old boat that the Queen used to go on). After driving round a bit longer we headed back to Granny's for lunch, and then Aunty Sal, Leanne and I went to a Hearts football game (Heart of Midlothian). It was.....interesting!! Dont know that I have ever heard such colourful language from a crowd (not even at a Port game!!!) and I seriously thought that the guy sitting next to Sal was going to cry. The game was 1-1, but I have to say the actual players weren't particularly impressive. The crowd was woth it though!!!

Saturday night had a quiet night in with the grandparents, which although sounds completely daggy is something that I have pretty much never done, at least not for a looooooong time!!
Sunday we resumed part 2 of the magical mystery tour, this time with Kylle in tow. First stop was in the centre of Edinburgh, where Kylle and I climbed the Scott's Monument. It was soooo high, and quite scary to climb as there were really narrow steps that just spiraled!! But the view from the top was worth it! Looking down was not so good but we did manage to give Aunty Sal a fright by leaning over and waving (she was a little speck on the ground!!!) Aparently some people had walked past and thought there was a lift inside...NOPE! Following that we drove to visit my uncle's grave which was incredibly sad...and then went to visit my Aunty Judith. Was really good to see her, as hadnt seen her for 8 years either. Unfortunatly missed seeing my other cousins but next trip up I will!

Sunday evening I learnt how to play golf!!! Well ok not quite but we went to a driving range and Alan and Sally tried to teach me how to chip/pitch (dont know golf terms!!!) Didnt do tooo badly for my first go! They make it look so much easier than it acctually is!!!
On Monday morning I got breakfast in bed again!! Then unfortunately had to return to Stoke-on-... well not my most favouritisted (gee im good at english) place! But it was such a good weekend and it was so good to see my family again!
