Curitiba, Brasil to Paraty, Brasil

Originally, I had no intention of getting in the water but after watching my companions enter the delicious waters, I jumped right in...civilian clothes and all.

By 5:30a.m. we arrived in Sao Paolo’s bus station where we warned to be extra cautious of suspicious activity. Many hours later, after several stops and a near bus break down, we arrived in Party. The blazing heat greeted us, quite a difference from Buenos Aires. We walked to the Pousada Marendez where we found discovered that our Super Guide Monica had gotten quite sick. Alone we left to a near by locals’ beach…we stuck out like a sore thumb! Since I was starving (nothing new), I bought a delicious plate of fruit…quite expensive but worth it. After our time at the beach, we went back, checked on Monica, and met up for dinner later on. We had dinner at the most impressive restaurant yet. The food was magnificent. I had some kind of beef and cheese concoction and indulged on two deserts. Everyone else was also raving about their meals too. Later on Brenda, Mathias, Andres and I made our way to the cobble stone streets of Paraty in search of a club but to no avail. We ended up at Che Bar where I enjoyed a tasty banana flambé!

Paraty, Brasil

After breakfast, we walked to the harbor and got on a boat to take a tour of several nearby islands. It was truly an incredible day at sea. Originally, I had no intention of getting in the water but after watching my companions enter the delicious waters, I jumped right in...civilian clothes and all. Later on, we went to dinner and then we went club searching once again. Mathias, Brenda, and I did manage to find a local club where we stuck out (nothing unusual at this point). When we got back to the hotel, I fell asleep as I read 100 Years of Solitude.
