No Title

We arrived in Paris without any scrapes or scratches on June 11th. After checking into our hotel we decided to explore this wonderful city a bit. Since we have five full days in Paris we're going slow and taking in everything, rather than other places where we took a few snaps and moved on.

First off, we walked along the river Seine and were amazed by the sights along there, such as Notre Dame, Hotel Di Ville, Sainte Chapelle, The Bastille(monument only) and various other places. We went into Notre Dame and what a spectacular church it was. The architecture of the building was unbelievable with it's tower reaching to the heavens, inside the columns arching to the vaulted ceiling and the stained glass windows more beautiful than I'd imagined. If I'd only seen Notre Dame it would've been worth the visit to Paris, however there were other places this day that made my mind spin.

Our next stop was the Sainte Chapelle and the stained glass windows were more amazing that those of Notre Dame. The second floor windows of the church went from nearly the floor all the way up to the ceiling and were built in a 'U' shape that extended from the entrance. They, through pictures told stories of the bible. Wow!!!!!

After that, we walked around the Chatelet Les Halles, the main shopping area of Paris and took in a few more monuments and churches. Exhausted and looking forward to exploring for a few more days we headed back to our hotel. On the way we decided to take dinner in a...Japanese restaurant. It was great to have food that didn't have olive oil dripping from it, which has been the main part of our meals since Turkey. We both decided to have sushi and sashimi, with miso soup. Nice!!!!
