So the journey begins!! Arrived in Boston safe and in good health although mighty tired.

We spent the first afternoon/evening walking around the city and generally taking it easy , in fact by around 9 we were all dying to hit the sack already!! Before that we managed to fit in a trip to the original 'Cheers' bar where we sampled some tasty weiss beer and had a good chat with a friendly and informative bar man. After this we took a stroll down the lake and pier taking in the amazing views as we went. Not long after this the attraction of our beds became too much and sure enough we were back at the hostel by 9!

Day 2 was the first day we really got to appreciate Boston fully and within no time we all fell in love with the city. After visiting various cities across America I could easily say this is now my favourite. Beautiful lakes, large green parks, amazing archetecture and great sights/attractions won us all over in no time. We started the day early and made our way to the cities famous 'Duck tours' (an onland/offland tour in a WWII vehicle threw the city and on the lake!!). This was a great overvue of the city and helped us to get our barings for the city, the tour conductor made this a highlight as he was must be one of the funniest men i've had the pleasure to meet, the great Garibaldi! We followed the tour by heading towards the wharf and stumbling across an Oyster bar (the oldest in America apparently!) throwing some celebrations for its birthday. We headed here to try some assorted seafood, trying to smile and compliment the staff after swallowing Oysters and clams that I could only describe as swallowing mucas that had been floating in the sea!! We then followed this with a trip to the Science museum! Strange I know and it reminded me of school trips in primary school, still we had a good laugh. In the evening we watched a modern take on Shakespears 'Taming of the shrew' on Common park, we smuggled some beers in of course and eat some deli sandwiches. It was a lovely evening but by ten o clock this time we were all fading and falling asleep on the park. Again we headed back to the hostel early and were asleep by 11!

Third and final day in Boston started with a tour of the Boston redsox stadium, definitely not a baseball fan but was a good tour none the less. Across the lake was Harvard university and the surrounding area was quite hip so we popped across to take a look and for some lunch. I left the others to have a wander round some shops and my hair had been pissing me off for a few days now because I couldn't find any where to get decent wax, I decided that without wax the best idea would be to get it all shaved off, so thats what I did. Much cooler now and no hassle in the mornings. I don't want to brag but the girls love it also ;-) . Around 6pm we all headed down to a free gig near the wharf I heard about... and it was only Yeah yeah yeah's and TV on the radio!!! I was loving it! The others weren't to bothered about watching tv on the radio so I headed down on my own with a pre mixed bottle of vodka and redbull to watch them. After their set, which was very impressive I headed to a pub near bye and got chatting to two local lads, they realised I was English and insisted that I had a Pirate tequila with them... For those that don't know (this included me at the time), this is a regular tequila only instead of licking the salt, you sniff it and instead of biting the lemon, you squeeze it in your eye. Thoroughly ridiculous but how could I turn it down. I headed back to meet the others at the gig with a sore nose and eye and two Bostonians in toe. Yeah yeah yeah's were awesome once again and we all drank VKRB's through the night. After the gig we headed to a club that upon our arrival was playing New order, I knew we were onto a winner. It turned out to be a Boston equivalent to 5th ave, very happy indeed, danced the night away and kissed a pretty girl, much fun until we all started throwing beer over each other and were politely asked to leave. See I told you it was like 5th ave!
