I finally have an itinerary....kind of.

So........ After much deliberating and absolutely no useable help whatsoever from friends and family, I've finally decided on an itinerary, and before people wade in with the 'how come you're going there in January?' line of questioning, let me take the opportunity to avail you of the difficulties of planning a 'round the world' trip. First off.....for most UK residents, some kind of climate wildly different to our own is part of the attraction of traveling AND YET getting this wrong in terms of timing can find you in rain showers so heavy that by the time you reach Mahu Pichu, Fraser Island, Angkor Wat, your legs feel as though you've been dragging a corpse or snow storms so blinding that you've long since lost sight of your traveling companions if not the will to live. The main problem is, that the places we often want to go all have similar wet/dry/cold/steaming seasons and so frankly, something has to give. Secondly, it's time to add national holidays into the equation......yes the street parades are pretty, but you've buckley's chance of getting cash, Kwells or condoms for the duration and does it reeeeeaaaallly need to go on for 3 weeks for 24 hours a day outside my hotel room?! Oh and for national holidays, read 'kids off school' so bank on spending a month's budget on a hostel so far out of town it's in the neighbouring town's suburbs AND queuing behind a myriad of hooded tops and mobile phones at every place you might actually want to get into.
