Graham writes :

We caught the 'Golden Sleeper' train from HCMC to Nha Trang early in the evening and, once the air conditioning had been switched on and the Ozies had finished their beer in the cubicle next door, we settled into a soporific 40mph journey to Nha Trang.  Around 5:05 am the next day we were woken by the local Communist rallying tune - the jingle lives on in our memories - we had arrived!

Fortunately, the hotel we had booked in Nha Trang let us in (very!) early so we could settle in and enjoy the local ameneties straight away.  Besides the hotel, Nha Trang offered a fabulous beach and a pretty lively night scene - or it would have if we hadn't arrived in the wet season!  The first couple of days were quite sunny, but then the weather turned wet and grey - we were starting to get itchy feet and wanted to get out of Nha Trang as quickly as possible.

All in all, Nha Trang is a pleasant sea-side resort, but offers little in the way of 'proper' Vietname experience.  It feels like it is destined to become the Benidorm of SE Asia...  nowt wrong in that of course...  ahem.
