Laos and Tubing!
From Our Little adventure in Luang Prabang, Laos on Jan 31 '09
Hi everybody!
Sorry, I know its been a while since we've last added an entry, but so much has happened since then and we've been pretty hectic and haven't really had much of an opportunity to get on line.
Well we've been in Laos for nearly a week and it has flown by! It took us 2 days to drive to the Laos/Vietnam border and to cross in to laos and get to the Laos Capital of Vientienne! So Monday and Tuesday of last week (26th-27th) was spent in buses travelling! But we had a few days in Vientienne which has a population of just over 200,000, so its probably one of the most laid back Capitals in the world!
Loas so far has really exceeded our expectations; there's so much to do here, adventure wise, and its a really stunning country: lots of mountains!
We've spent the last few days in a small town called Vieng Viang which is a pretty crazy place! Its adventure central with the chance to do kayaking, rafting, rock climbing.....and tubing!
This is not really a sport but is still loads of fun. It entails renting a rubber ring which you use to float down a river for a few K's stopping off at several bars, where you can drink and go on several swings, slides and death slides into the river! Its really good fun and is a hidden treasure of Laos!
Well we're now near the end of our time away so we will only have one or two more entries. But I hope these have kept you informed on our travels.
Love Jonny and Stacy xxxx
