Another day, another border.. we're getting through it.

Woke up at Idaho Falls and headed to the Falls themselves.  Beautiful place but man was it cold this morning ! Took some pics at the falls. Princess missed the whole thing.. (still sleeping with the bears) and then we headed for the Grand Tetons..

The big question.. Will we be able to get into Yellowstone?  We'll give it a try..

There was snow at the Grand Tetons but the roads heading up were very dry and snowless.. thought we may be in luck.

When we got to the entrance of Yogi Bear and Boo Boo, we saw the sign.. :(Closed - Closed - Closed - Closed)

We were three days too late.  We did think it may be closed when we left Australia but you can always wish.. never mind.. we just couldn't work out why they had closed it as we couldn't see any snow (apart from the top of the Grand Tetons)

.. a few miles later, we 'got' it.  Snow in abundance !

Greg managed to get Missy through the icy roads, very impressive.. all those years of driving trucks I guess..

Snow everywhere from Yellowstone to Dubois !  We even pulled over and decked ourselves out in our snow boots and had a snow ball fight.  Great fun !

It was bizaare - we came down the mountains to the flats and the snow was gone.  The scenery from Yellowstone to Dubois was pretty breathtaking.. It just lifts your entire mood and keeps you very very awake.. not sure if its the adrenalin from being spooked about the icy roads or just the incredible displays of the snow tipped trees... whatever it is.. it's pretty awesome !

Ended up in Wind River for the night and did some laundry.. cooked dinner, played a few games of cards with the kidliwinks and to bed.

Yellowstone park was closed? You should have done a National Lampoons Vacation, and took the park rangers to ransom!
