Midge's Birthday !

Cloudy, but never mind. We had a day of thunderstorms a week ago in Wellfleet, and then a week of glorious sunshine. The forecast is the same for this week. Would have been nice if we could have had some other day for the clouds - oh well. Woke up and opened presents, and then Midge went for a run while Will and I went swimming. She followed a hotel recommended route and came back an hour later looking VERY hot. It's very humid today. Then, like yesterday, brunch, and RESULT - Midge decided she wanted to play mini-golf at Smugglers Cove in the early afternoon. Only took a bit of wheedling by me and Will. Immediate result though because Midge got a hole in one on the first hole ! Came home and had cake on the balcony (the plan was to have it on the beach, but the wind was blowing by the time we got back and I wasn't at all sure the candles would light on the beach). After cake, back to the pool, and then out to dinner in Hyannis in the evening at a lovely Italian restaurant on Main Street. As we walked back to the car after the dinner, the heavens opened and an almighty electric storm broke out, which has been lighting the skies in spectacular fashion for the rest of the evening. Came back and watched the lightning and torrential rain from the balcony before putting Will to bed, then sat and watched Michelle Obama speak at the Democratic Convention in Denver, live on CBS. Very impressive, Very persuasive. An accomplished speech. Wasn't sure about Stevie Wonder and 'Isn't She Wonderful' at the end though. Wonder if they'd have played that for Bill if Hilary had been the Nominee and Bill had been giving the partner's speech.
