So here I am in Racine, WI, just outside of Milwaukee. It is in the middle of nowhere again but seems a little more civilised - the real problem however is that it is SNOWING lots infact. Listening to the forecasters over the next few days you would actually think that the world was going to end right here, right now in Racine. Seriosuly they are predicting high winds and up to 24 hours of snowing with varying depths of between 8, 12, 16 and 24 inches. You can imagine my surprise then to wake up the morning after said forecast to really not very much snow.

Work was good and the people are great and with the weather due in not sure I will be heading up to the other site. So the second day comes and as I say not much snow - oh boy was I wrong! The hospital pretty much shut down at 2pm and I had a lift back to the hotel with some people and we couldn't see the road. NOT at all, not the pavement, not in front of us and nothing...

Racing Racine...??!!

I am sure I have not seen snow like this ever. Thankfully there is a bar and restaurant in the hotel so I don't have to go outside at all. LOVELY bar maid too, just as an aside. Well it snowed and snowed and then snowed a bit more, and although I think that 24" may have been a slight miss calculation by Micheal Fish - Yes Racine has a weatherman called Michael Fish, you think he knows. COURSE HE DOESN'T, very funny though - it did snow at least 2ft and the next morning was really very pretty. I sat looking out at the FROZEN lake, imagining the lovely water and boats that apparantly come here in the summer. I may have to return.

So managed to work the rest of the week remotely and had a very succesful day and a bit.

Off to Florida for the weekend to see James and Stephanie, and I can't wait to see them and to get some heat - SICK of being cold. So today I will be travelling from 22degrees F to 75degF. Not a bad jump in temp that.
