We set off from Mark's house at 9am on Monday 24th April. Despite arriving just in time Chris was fined for arriving late. This was to be the first of many fines accrued during the trip.

The drive to the Akamas lighthouse was long and tedious - the highlight being when Mark nearly lost a finger while trying to unhitch the trailer!

We finally started cycling at 2pm after a quick photo session. Gareth made good headway heading off down the track until he punctured after little more than a kilometre. Colin and Duncan waited while the puncture was fixed and the rest headed off towards Kato Pyrgos.

Due to an aversion to map reading, Duncan, Colin and Gareth missed a turn and ended up taking the long route.

After passing the turning towards the Baths of Aphrodite the cycling was easy except for the constant headwind.

After a pig of a climb on the approach to Kato Pyrgos followed by a fast descent it wasn't long before the 'team' was enjoying a well deserved beer.

Distance: 71km

Stumbled upon this site on a bleak day in England whilst planning a trip back to Cyprus. Couldn't believe my eyes when I saw your blog mentioned Mark Foley as I knew him many years ago. Doesn't sound likes he has changed much! Blog made me laugh out loud!
