We decided that Tijuana is not the place to stay, but this hostel down south would be cool.  It was quite a drive down a road in various stages of disrepair.  Made us 2nd and 3rd guessed our decision a few times.

We decided to sleep in the hostel for $15 ($13 after or Hostelling International discount) instead of camping out in the cold for $10.  Yup, it's even a bit cold there.

Met some interesting folks there.  A Swedish guy who backpacked across South America and is now in Mexico with his Chilean girlfriend (from Easter Island to be exact).  A travelling private high school.  The latter spends 2 weeks at home studying math and science, 2 weeks in various countries in the world studying social studies, Spanish, English, etc.  And a few surfers of course, one was from Victoria, BC.

We also met some locals who were fishing.  They gave us beer (which I gave to Dirk) and invited us to their home to share in the large fish they caught yesterday.  But something got lost in translation of our meeting spot and we couldn't find them when we went searching lol.
