After a 12 hour overnight bus ride from Krakow we arrive in Vilnius.  After a good 2 hour hunt for our hostel we met with our friend Asta.  She lives on the internation floor with us in the dorms.  She invited us to visit her hometown for a couple of days.  We checked into our super sketchy Old Town hostel.  The interiors were ok but the outside was really bad.  But it was only $40usd for 3 night so cheap = great!  Asta first took us to a most delicious pancake place.  Crepes are stuffed with anything from chicken to fruits and ice cream.  I had a chicken and cheese and then a strawberry.  They were amazing and I wished I knew of a place like this in Krakow.  We napped for a little bit and then rode to a neighboring town of Trakiar.  It was established by Turks and there was a huge castle there.  The castle sat out in the middle of a lake, and it was all very picturesque.  We got to the castle just as it was closing so we rushed to get through it.

While we were walking across the bridge from the castle we saw a huge swan in the lake.  I hurried over to the shore where several children were trying to play with it.  I had some wafer cookies in my bag so we began to feed him.  He was really aggreesive and kept biting the wooden dock we were standing on.  I tried several times to feed him from my hand but I would wimp out every time.  Finally I did it and guess what?  The stnking thing bit my hand really hard!  haha I had swan injury.

We enjoyed dinner at a local place overlooking the lake.  It served traditional Turkish dishes.  Emily and I shared Kibinai - bread with marinated chicken stuffed inside and they had cider beer!! It's my favorite thing to drink at home and I hadn't seen it anywhere in Europe yet, all the girls were pretty excited.  On the way home we stopped to buy picnic food for the next days festivities.

That night Asta knew of a Red Bull party at a club in the city center.  The place was called Fashion Club and it was so much fun.  The DJ was amazing and played all  really great dance music - mostly all American tunes that we all knew.
