We decided seeing as we've come all the way to Ireland we shouldn't spend the day cooped up in our room at our hostel (as we did the day before recovering from jetlag). So we decided upon a bus trip to Youghal, an old walled sea town about 50mins from Cork City.
After getting off at the wrong bus stop and struggling to find the visitors centre we were finally on our way to explore the quaint fishing village. We had a relaxing day looking at all the historical buildings in the town. It’s so nice to be in a place where things are older than 150 years...

We had a filling lunch at a café then set out to catch the bus back to Cork, which was more difficult than we thought. After finding the bus stop, which was in the opposite direction from where the girl at the visitors center told us. We saw the bus coming and got up from where we were sitting to walk towards it but it just went straight by. The next bus was 15mins late and Marc had to basically stand in front of it on the road and do a dance to wave it down. And we were reading somewhere that Irish shouldn’t expect other countries to have such a good public transport system as theirs!!
