Think Batho

BRISTOL Fri 20th April – sun 22nd April.
Had been having urges to go to Bathurst, mainly bc of the fun road trips and randomness that goes along with batho. So it was convenient that we went to Bristol for the weekend. Trish had to teach and had paid accommodation from the gym so Nat and I tagged along and had THE best weekend!
Had been having urges to go to Bathurst
We left about 9pm Friday night and had a sing-along to our new favourite songs from My Chemical and Avril (Avril’s ‘Boyfriend’ has become our theme song). I literally jumped out of bed - after Trish trying to drag me out for 10 mins – when I heard it blasting from the kitchen/loungeroom. The girls know we love it, so they put it one really loud in the kitchen and I was out of bed n 2 seconds flat lol.
Sat, Nat and I slept in until 1pm sat hehehe, showered… I was completely starkers, in the nud when nat walked in on me, about to get dressed in the bedroom. I did a running dive & threw myself onto the bed to cover up.
it was quite funny bc I threw myself on the bed and then nat told me without her glasses on she didn’t see a thing – I don’t know if she just said that to make me feel better but it’s still hilarious.
Later, when I was fully clothed & nat had her glasses on, we went an saw the sights. Clifton village – this really cool old area pre WW2 with a whole street of renovated pre-war flats. On the way there we went through a really beautiful cemetery – I know that sounds weird but have a look at the photos and u’ll understand. It was just really quaint.
We saw the first ever suspension bridge in the world. Did some shopping etc. on the way back we went into this tiny garden – it reminded me of Notting Hill so insisted we go take photos (oh yeh I bought a new camera).
Went out for dinner to a mexiacn/brazilian that night and the food was DELICIOUS! I had the ‘chimichaga’ and renamed our waiter ‘Chimy’ and made him serve my food with some ‘changa’ dance moves hehe
Sunday, we went for brekkie (best country style English breakfast ever!!) and then got on a bus to nowhere to go to Jon Lewis (like Lincraft – only they are huge like Myer and sell everything, not just fabric). I needed to get some fabric for the fashion course I started – Period costume design @ the London College of Fashion. I don’t have to make anything – just design, so I need inspiring fabric :o)
It took 45+mins on the bus to get to the shopping centre in the middle of nowhere. But only 15 on the way back. – weird. But we got off about 3km to early and had to drag ourselves 7 our shopping back into town – where we had the most delicious strawberry ice cream ever!
So back to my point about Bathurst. Bristol is heaps like batho, it’s 2.5 hours drive from London, a uni town, with the parks filled with uni students being random, juggling and whatever. Really nice atmosphere and people, unlike rude London. On the way back we got stuck it 1 1/2 hrs of traffic so that was fun. Well it was for about 1/2 hour bc we sung into drink bottles and took random photos.
