We left NYC from Pennsylvania station (which is right next to Madison Square Gardens) on our Amtrak train.
The train ride was beautiful. We went through Stamford, Bridgeport (both in Conneticut), Long Island and Providence (Massachusetts). Large parts of the journey are along the water (lakes, as well as the sea) and the scenery was so rad!
We arrived at South Station in downtown Boston and went out for dinner with Carrie and Liz in the university district. We walked through Harvard University - lots of history and prestige. There is quite a lot of ice all over from the large snowfalls about a week ago. The snow melted a bit and then it got really cold, so the city is like one big ice rink! We went out again, 3rd night in a row!! This time to McFadden's, an Irish pub in Faneuil Hall, mainly for a potential love interest (for Liz) who was there...

Incidentally, we are staying at an old friend of Nicki's. Her name is Marcie and she is married to Nate (Carrie and Marcie are sisters, and Liz and Nate are brother and sister).
Sunday we went and toured the city. Boston is rich with history and many of America's milestones can be traced to the city. Some of the things we saw are: Boston Commons and Boston Gardens (including the Frog and Duck Ponds); Faneuil Hall; Cheers Bar, from the sitcom (there are two bars, the original and a replica); the Holocaust Memorial; Quincy Market; Newberry Street; and Fenway Park (the home of the Boston Red Sox).
